DESCRIPTION
In line with the NDRMF aim and outputs, the proposed PKR 277 million project is designed to develop and establish national hazard and vulnerability profiles. The aforementioned outcome is planned to be achieved by carrying out various interventions including conduct detailed multi-hazard vulnerability and risk analysis/assessments at local levels.
MHVRAs: Multi-Hazard Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (MHVRA) is a study that analysis different types of hazards and put that into a system for comprehensive evaluation while taking into account the probability of occurrence of multiple hazardous events for interrelations.
The aim of the MHVRA study is to have an overall view of the effects and identification/mapping of expected loss due to the occurrence of various natural hazards. NDMA has already done the macro level hazard risk assessment at the provincial level. This needs to be taken to the micro level i.e. district and below, for meaningful disaster management visualized/assessed through internationally accepted best tool/practice for disaster management & DRR compliant development. NDMA is, therefore, proposing to conduct MHVRA in the provinces of KP and Balochistan.
